Anyways, if our landlady hadn&#039;t suddenly needed to fix her roof (and pay for it by selling the place we&#039;d rented for nine years), it probably would&#039;ve taken us another few YEARS to seriously get off our asses and look for a home.

It was a tough situation â€” surely the most stress I&#039;ve felt in my li&#039;l life â€” but exACTly what we needed.  We didn&#039;t realize how rough our old neighbourhood was until we moved into our new one.  Our eyes are open now and, in a roundabout way, we&#039;re very glad we were kicked out. =)
